Luis Elizondo, a former Pentagon official, has made explosive claims regarding the US government’s involvement with extraterrestrial phenomena. Elizondo, who previously served as a senior intelligence officer, alleges that the US has recovered spacecraft of unknown origin and studied biological specimens from these entities.
In an interview with NewsNation, Elizondo stated, “The United States has been involved in the recovery of objects, vehicles of unknown origin that are neither from our country nor any other foreign country that we’re aware of.” He further suggested that one of these recovered spacecraft might be linked to the infamous 1947 Roswell incident. Elizondo contends that the government has been aware of extraterrestrial life for decades and has deliberately kept this information from the public.
“We are not alone in this universe and it is a simple fact,” Elizondo said. “The US government has been aware of that fact for decades.” He claimed that the government has not only been interested in the vehicles but also in the biological specimens found within them.
Elizondo’s assertions include a description of a “technical device” removed from a US military service member who reportedly encountered a Unidentified Aerial Phenomenon (UAP). He described the device as having the ability to evade being excised by a surgeon, suggesting advanced technology beyond current human capabilities.
These claims have ignited controversy and debate. The Department of Defense has firmly denied Elizondo’s allegations. Sue Gough, a spokesperson for the Department of Defense, stated, “The department is fully committed to openness and accountability to Congress and the American people, which it must balance with its obligation to protect sensitive information, sources, and methods… To date, we have not found any credible evidence of extraterrestrial activity.”
Gough also refuted Elizondo’s claims about the Advanced Aerospace Threat Identification Program (AATIP), asserting that he had no assigned responsibilities for the program. According to the Department of Defense, “AARO has not discovered any verifiable information to substantiate claims that any programs regarding the possession or reverse-engineering of extraterrestrial materials have existed in the past or exist currently.”
Elizondo’s background includes a degree in microbiology and immunology from the University of Miami and service as a special agent in counterintelligence for the US military. Despite his credentials and detailed accounts, the official stance remains skeptical, with the Department of Defense emphasizing that no credible evidence has been found to support claims of extraterrestrial encounters or technology.
The controversy surrounding Elizondo’s revelations raises questions about transparency and the potential existence of advanced technology beyond human understanding.
