Amid rising tensions in West Asia, Sheikh Khalid bin Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, the Crown Prince of Abu Dhabi, will embark on a two-day visit to India starting Sunday. The visit aims to strengthen the ties between India and the United Arab Emirates (UAE) and explore new areas of collaboration. During his trip, Crown Prince Al Nahyan will hold extensive talks with Prime Minister Narendra Modi on various aspects of bilateral cooperation. Discussions are also expected to address the broader situation arising from the Israel-Hamas conflict. The Crown Prince is scheduled to meet President Droupadi Murmu and visit Rajghat to pay homage to Mahatma Gandhi. Accompanied by several UAE ministers and a business delegation, he will also participate in a trade forum in Mumbai after his Delhi visit. The Ministry of External Affairs highlighted the historic and friendly relations between India and the UAE, noting their deepening strategic partnership in various sectors since Modi’s landmark visit to the UAE in August 2015. Recent agreements, including the Comprehensive Economic Partnership Agreement (CEPA) in February 2022 and the Local Currency Settlement (LCS) system in July 2023, have further strengthened economic ties. The UAE remains one of India’s top trading partners and investors.
