The Rajasthan government has initiated a long-awaited reshuffle in its administrative structure by transferring 108 officers from the Indian Administrative Service (IAS). Among these, 96 officers have been transferred, while 10 officers have been assigned new responsibilities, and 20 IAS officers have been given additional responsibilities. It is noteworthy that there had been widespread speculation in political and administrative circles regarding the transfer list for quite some time. The state’s personnel department issued an order late Thursday night concerning the transfers.
In this administrative reshuffle, the collectors of 13 districts, including Jaipur, as well as the divisional commissioners of Jaipur and Banswara, have been transferred. Additional Chief Secretary of the Health Department, Shubhra Singh, has been transferred to the post of Chairman of Rajasthan State Road Transport Corporation (RSRTC). IAS officer Shreya Guha has been appointed as Additional Chief Secretary (Rural Development), shifting from her previous role as Additional Chief Secretary (Transport).
Notably, the state government has not made changes to Akhil Arora, Additional Chief Secretary of the Finance Department, and Anand Kumar, Principal Secretary of the Home Department, in this reshuffle. Arora had also served as Additional Chief Secretary of the Finance Department during the Congress regime, and Kumar has been in the Home Department since 2022. According to the transfer order, IAS officer Bhaskar Sawant will now serve as the Principal Secretary of the Public Health Engineering Department.
