BENGALURU MAHALAKSHMI MURDER CASE: A startling revelation has emerged in the Mahalakshmi murder case in Bengaluru. Mukti Ranjan Rai, a co-worker of Mahalakshmi, confessed to killing her before taking his own life. He admitted this to his mother, shortly before his suicide, and also left a note explaining the details. According to his note, Rai had feelings for Mahalakshmi, but she allegedly threatened him with false kidnapping charges. Rai’s body was found hanging from a tree in Dhusuri, Bhadrak district, Odisha. Police claim to have discovered a suicide note at the scene, in which Mukti Ranjan confessed to the crime. The note revealed that the night before his death, he tearfully admitted to his mother that he had killed Mahalakshmi. Early the next morning, at around 5 AM, he ended his life. Bengaluru police are now collaborating with Odisha police to investigate the case further. A team from Bengaluru is expected to visit Odisha to collect evidence, including Rai's suicide note and personal belongings, such as his laptop, found at the crime scene. The suicide note, mostly written in English with some parts in Odia, details Mukti’s distress over Mahalakshmi’s behavior. "I liked her, I loved her, but she wasn’t treating me right. She threatened to frame me in a kidnapping case, and I spent a lot of money because of her," Rai wrote.

Police Investigation and Theories

Bengaluru police stated that Mukti Ranjan and Mahalakshmi worked together in a clothing store, where they initially became friends. Their relationship turned complicated when Mahalakshmi allegedly began pressuring Mukti to marry her. Tensions escalated, leading to frequent arguments. In a fit of rage, Mukti Ranjan allegedly killed her, dismembering her body afterward.

Timeline of the Murder

Mahalakshmi was killed between September 2 and 3, and her body, found in over 40 pieces, was discovered in a refrigerator in her Bengaluru home. Some parts of her body were scattered around the room. Police believe the murder occurred about 20-22 days before the body was discovered.
