New Delhi, September 10 (ANI): Union Minister Giriraj Singh has unleashed a severe critique against West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee, branding her as the “most dangerous politician” in India. Singh’s comments come amid the ongoing controversy surrounding the brutal rape and murder of a trainee doctor at RG Kar Medical College and Hospital in Kolkata.
Singh’s remarks paint a stark picture of Banerjee, accusing her of prioritizing her grip on power over the well-being of the nation. He claimed that Banerjee is willing to compromise national interests to maintain her position, suggesting that her actions lack emotional depth and sensitivity, particularly towards women.
The horrific incident, in which the young doctor was discovered dead in the seminar hall of the medical college on August 9, has ignited widespread outrage and protests both within West Bengal and across the country. The situation has escalated tensions between the BJP and the state government, with the BJP demanding Banerjee’s resignation.
In recent developments, the Supreme Court has directed the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) to submit a fresh report on the case by next week. This follows accusations from the victim’s mother, who has alleged that Banerjee misled them about financial compensation and other forms of support.
Sanjay Roy, a civic volunteer at RG Kar Medical College, has been arrested in connection with the case. Additionally, the former principal of the college, Dr. Sandip Ghosh, was detained by the CBI on September 2 for alleged corruption and financial misconduct.
The next court hearing is scheduled for September 10, as the investigation continues to unfold.
