Maharashtra: Waiter Dragged Over 1km, Robbed of Rs 11,500 After Asking Customers to Pay Bill

In a shocking incident in Maharashtra’s Beed district, a waiter was dragged by a car for more than 1 kilometer after he asked a group of customers to pay their food bill. The incident occurred at a roadside hotel on September 7, along the Mehkar-Pandharpur Palkhi route.

According to police reports, three men had stopped for dinner at the hotel. After finishing their meal, they requested the waiter to bring a UPI QR code for online payment. However, when the waiter arrived to collect the payment, an argument broke out between him and the men. Suddenly, the man who was outside the car ran and jumped inside, as the group attempted to flee without paying.

The waiter tried to stop them by opening the car door, but the driver quickly reversed and sped off, dragging the waiter along with the vehicle. CCTV footage shows another employee chasing the car and throwing a brick at it, but the vehicle managed to escape with the waiter still hanging from the door.

The police revealed that the waiter was held hostage by the three men throughout the night. They later stopped at a secluded area, beat him, blindfolded him, and robbed him of Rs 11,500 before releasing him.

A case has been registered at the Dindrud police station, and an investigation is underway to apprehend the culprits.
