A Delhi court on Friday extended the Enforcement Directorate (ED) custody of Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) legislator Amanatullah Khan by three more days in a money laundering case. Special Judge Vishal Gogna issued the order in response to the central investigative agency’s application. The ED had requested the court to extend Khan’s custody for an additional 10 days. The judge granted a three-day extension and ordered that Khan be presented on September 9.
The ED had previously presented Khan before the court after the expiration of his initial four-day custody period. Khan was detained under the Prevention of Money Laundering Act (PMLA) on September 2, following a raid at his residence in the Okhla area of the national capital. The ED informed the court that during the raid, Khan was questioned, but he avoided answering, which led to his arrest.
