Bus Accident in Jammu and Kashmir Claims Lives of 3 BSF Personnel, 32 Injured

A bus carrying Border Security Force (BSF) personnel for election duty fell into a gorge in Budgam district, Jammu and Kashmir, on Friday, resulting in the death of three soldiers and injuring 32 others. The bus had been hired to transport BSF troops for the upcoming second phase of Jammu and Kashmir Assembly polls scheduled for September 25.

According to officials, around 35 jawans were rushed to a hospital following the accident. Sadly, three troopers succumbed to their injuries, while the others are reported to be in a stable condition.

Jammu and Kashmir police chief R R Swain expressed deep sorrow over the incident and offered heartfelt condolences to the families and colleagues of the deceased. “We mourn the loss of these dedicated soldiers who served the nation tirelessly,” he said, adding that the Jammu and Kashmir Police would provide full support to the injured.

The injured BSF soldiers were visited at the hospital by Inspector General of Police (IGP) Kashmir Zone V K Birdi, along with senior officials, including the IG of BSF’s Kashmir Frontier, Divisional Commissioner of Kashmir, and other high-ranking officers. The IGP expressed concern for the well-being of the injured and ensured they were receiving the best possible care.
