While delivering a speech in Kathua, Jammu and Kashmir, Congress President Mallikarjun Kharge fainted but later returned to the stage. After recovering, he said, “I’m 83, but I won’t die so soon. I will stay alive until Modi is removed. I will continue to fight for you and ensure Jammu and Kashmir gets full statehood.”
Prime Minister Narendra Modi called Kharge to check on his health after hearing about the incident. The Congress party is contesting 32 of the 90 seats in the Jammu and Kashmir assembly elections in alliance with the National Conference.

Tamil Nadu CM MK Stalin has appointed his son Udhayanidhi Stalin as the Deputy CM in a cabinet reshuffle. Additionally, V Senthil Balaji, R Rajendran, Dr. Govi Chezhiyan, and SM Nasar were sworn in as ministers. Senthil Balaji, who was granted bail in a money laundering case, returned to the cabinet.

Floods in Bihar, Heavy Rain Breaks 95-Year Record in Gorakhpur
Heavy rainfall in Nepal has caused flooding in 12 districts of Bihar, affecting over 150,000 people. In Gorakhpur, Uttar Pradesh, 153 mm of rain was recorded in the last 24 hours, breaking a 95-year-old record. Alerts for heavy rain have been issued in 13 states across India.
In Ahmedabad, Gujarat, fraudsters made a payment of ₹1.3 crore in fake notes for 2,100 grams of gold. The counterfeit ₹500 notes featured Anupam Kher’s photo instead of Mahatma Gandhi’s and had “Start Bank of India” printed instead of “State Bank of India.” The jeweler who received these fake notes has filed a fraud complaint.
