Stone Pelting on Swatantrata Senani Express in Bihar: Several Passengers Injured

Samastipur: In a troubling incident, the Swatantrata Senani Express, traveling from Jaynagar to New Delhi, was attacked with stones near Samastipur station in Bihar. The attack occurred late Thursday night as the train was en route from Samastipur to Muzaffarpur. During the attack, several windows were shattered, and some passengers sustained injuries. The injured were taken to a nearby hospital for treatment.

Windows of Pantry Car and Coaches Shattered

The stone-pelting occurred near the outer signal of Samastipur station. As soon as the train reached the spot, stones were thrown, causing panic among passengers. The windows of the pantry car, along with coaches A-1 and B-2, were damaged. Several sleeper class windows were also hit. Injuries to a few passengers were reported, and they received medical attention at Samastipur.

Incident Occurred Despite GRP Presence on the Train

Surprisingly, the attack took place even though Government Railway Police (GRP) personnel were present on the train at the time. The culprits managed to escape, and security forces from both the Railway Protection Force (RPF) and GRP were dispatched to the site. An investigation has been launched by the authorities.

DRM Orders Investigation

This incident raises serious concerns about passenger safety. Sonpur DRM Vivek Bhushan Sood confirmed that an investigation is underway to identify the attackers, and strict action will be taken against those responsible. He assured that railway authorities are working to ensure the safety of passengers in the future.
