Rahul Gandhi Describes Bharat Jodo Yatra as ‘An Attack’ on Himself

During an event at the University of Texas in Dallas on Friday, Rahul Gandhi described his Bharat Jodo Yatra as “an attack on myself.” Reflecting on the 4000 km journey, he shared the personal challenges and self-doubts he faced. Gandhi likened the internal struggle to the concept of Lord Shiva, who he described as destroying his ego and beliefs, drawing a parallel to his own transformative experience during the yatra.

Gandhi credited the yatra with fostering a new way of thinking and a deeper understanding of the people. He expressed amazement at how introducing the concept of ‘love’ into Indian politics had resonated, noting that such an idea is rare in political discourse, which often focuses on hatred and corruption.

The Congress MP elaborated on the need for the yatra, explaining that traditional communication channels in India were blocked, leading the party to seek direct engagement with the people. Gandhi’s visit to the U.S. from September 8 to 10 includes further discussions on his experiences and insights from the yatra.
