In a announcement from Haryana, Union Home Minister Amit Shah revealed plans to increase the financial assistance provided to farmers under the PM Kisan Samman Nidhi scheme. If the BJP wins in Haryana, farmers will receive ₹10,000 instead of the current ₹6,000. This initiative is aimed at providing better support to the agricultural community.
Additionally, Shah stated that the Ayushman Bharat scheme, which currently offers insurance coverage of up to ₹5 lakh, will be enhanced to ₹10 lakh. Furthermore, an additional ₹5 lakh will be allocated specifically for senior citizens. Currently, the central government provides farmers with ₹6,000 annually, disbursed in three installments of ₹2,000 each directly into their bank accounts.
Upcoming Payment for Farmers
Farmers can expect the upcoming 18th installment of the PM Kisan Samman Nidhi payments shortly. The funds are scheduled to be credited to their accounts around the time of Durga Puja, with Prime Minister Modi set to release the 18th installment on October 5. These funds will be transferred via Direct Benefit Transfer (DBT) directly into farmers’ bank accounts.
Importance of e-KYC for Farmers
For farmers who are beneficiaries of the PM Kisan scheme, completing the e-KYC process is crucial to receiving the funds. Those who have not yet completed their e-KYC will not be able to avail themselves of the benefits. Farmers are urged to complete this process as soon as possible by visiting the PM Kisan portal and using their mobile number and Aadhaar card to complete the e-KYC.
Major Updates on Ayushman Bharat Scheme
Amit Shah also addressed the Ayushman Bharat scheme, stating that the current coverage of ₹5 lakh will be increased to ₹10 lakh following the election victory. In addition, seniors will receive an extra ₹5 lakh for their healthcare needs. The Ayushman Bharat scheme is recognized as one of the key initiatives of the Modi government, aimed at providing health insurance to the underprivileged.
In related news, the BJP successfully won the election for a member of the MCD Standing Committee, with Congress and AAP councilors opting not to participate in the voting.
