NEW DELHI, APRIL 19: What began as a street altercation months ago has ended in bloodshed on the streets of Seelampur. In a chilling act of revenge, 17-year-old Kunal was brutally stabbed to death barely 50 metres from his home on Thursday evening.
The Delhi Police have arrested 25-year-old Zikra Khan, infamously known in local circles as “Lady Don”, for masterminding the attack. Police said the murder was a cold-blooded retaliation for a spat dating back to November 2024.
What Happened That Evening
According to investigators, Kunal was walking through a local market when a group led by Zikra ambushed him. Two teenagers allegedly carried out the stabbing while others, including Zikra, ensured no one intervened. CCTV footage captured the horrifying incident, showing the attackers fleeing the scene as bystanders watched in fear.
Kunal’s mother, Parveen Devi, recalled the harrowing moments. “My husband ran when he saw the commotion, but by then, the attackers had escaped. He saw four or five boys and a woman running away,” she said. Tragically, Kunal succumbed to his injuries before his family could get him medical help.
The Backstory
Police revealed that the motive stemmed from an old dispute where one of Zikra’s associates had been assaulted months ago, with Kunal reportedly present during the incident. The grudge had simmered ever since, culminating in Thursday’s fatal attack.
Public Outrage and Political Response
The murder triggered late-night protests in the area, with angry residents demanding justice. Delhi Chief Minister Rekha Gupta met with the victim’s family and promised swift action. “I’ve spoken to the Commissioner of Police. The investigation is moving fast, and those responsible will be brought to justice,” she assured.
Who is ‘Lady Don’ Zikra?
Known locally as “Lady Don,” Zikra Khan is no stranger to trouble. With a reputation for gang-related activity and street dominance in parts of Seelampur, her name has surfaced in multiple complaints in the past, though this is her most serious offence to date.
The investigation continues as police hunt down the remaining suspects still at large.
