J&K Congress Disassociates Itself from Vikar Rasool Wani’s Remarks Against National Conference

Srinagar: The Jammu and Kashmir Pradesh Congress Committee (JKPCC) has officially disassociated itself from the derogatory remarks made by senior Congress leader Vikar Rasool Wani against the National Conference (NC). This statement came after Wani, who is also the Congress candidate from Banihal, made inflammatory comments about the NC during an election rally.

In a recent program in Banihal, Wani criticized the NC severely, saying, “NC’s flag is red because it is stained with the blood of Kashmiris, especially the people of Banihal.” This attack was condemned by JKPCC president Tariq Hameed Karra, who emphasized that such language is unacceptable and contrary to the values of democracy and respect for political opponents.

Karra reiterated the Congress party’s respect for prominent NC leaders, including the late Sheikh Mohammad Abdullah and his son, Farooq Abdullah. He stressed that the Congress and NC are allies in the upcoming elections, working together against the BJP and focusing on the dignity and rights of the people of Jammu and Kashmir.

Karra urged all political figures to uphold dignity and respect in their public discourse and reaffirmed the Congress party’s commitment to its alliance with the NC. He highlighted that both parties are united in their effort to counter divisive politics and to protect the interests of the region and its residents.
