Ghaziabad Juice Vendor Arrested for Mixing Urine in Drinks; Public Outrage Erupts

A shocking case of food contamination has emerged in Ghaziabad, where a juice vendor was arrested for allegedly mixing urine into customer drinks. The incident has sparked significant public outrage and led to violent confrontations at the vendor’s stall.

On Friday, local police apprehended Aamir Khan, the owner of a juice stall, following complaints from the public. The complaints stemmed from observations of a yellowish liquid being mixed with the fruit juices served at the stall. During a subsequent investigation, officers discovered a plastic container filled with urine on the premises. Khan, along with a 15-year-old boy who worked at the stall, was taken into custody.

The revelation of the contamination led to immediate and intense public reaction. A large crowd gathered at the stall, leading to physical altercations between the locals and the vendor. Videos capturing the confrontation, where the vendor and his associate were seen being assaulted, have since gone viral on social media platforms.

Assistant Commissioner of Police (ACP) Ankur Vihar Bhaskar Verma confirmed the arrest and stated that the police are taking further action in the case. The investigation is ongoing, and additional measures are being considered to address the situation.

This case is part of a troubling pattern of food safety issues. Earlier this year, an ice-cream vendor in Telangana was arrested for mixing semen into falooda, an incident that also drew widespread media attention. Additionally, a bizarre incident in the US involved a man inadvertently consuming urine from a Grubhub order.

“The presence of urine in the drinks is a serious health violation,” ACP Verma said. “We are committed to ensuring that those responsible are held accountable and to preventing such incidents in the future.”

The Ghaziabad incident underscores the urgent need for stringent food safety regulations and oversight. As the investigation continues, local authorities are calling for increased vigilance and preventive measures to safeguard public health.
