A new attempt to derail a train has been uncovered in Mahoba, Uttar Pradesh, following a similar case in Ballia. A minor has been arrested for placing a large stone on the railway tracks.
Incident Details: The incident occurred on the Jhansi-Manikpur railway line where a large stone was found between poles numbered 1292/2 and 1293/3 near Sukoura village in the Kabrai police station area. The stone was spotted by the loco pilot of the Jhansi-Prayagraj passenger train (Train No. 11801), who acted swiftly and halted the train, preventing a major accident. The police and Railway Protection Force (RPF) were immediately informed.
How the Accused Was Caught: Upon receiving the alert, local police and RPF officials arrived at the scene, removed the stone, and resumed train operations. During a search of the area, they found a teenager behaving suspiciously. Upon investigation, the boy, identified as 16-year-old Anshu Yadav, son of Heera Yadav from Revara village, admitted to placing the stone while herding cattle nearby. He has since been arrested, and a case has been registered under Section 327 of the Indian Penal Code and the Railway Act.
Increased Vigilance: Following the incident, RPF and GRP (Government Railway Police) have intensified patrols along the railway tracks. GRP Inspector Ranvijay Bahadur and his team conducted additional checks on the tracks. According to City CO Deepak Dubey, the police are thoroughly investigating the matter, and legal action is being taken against the minor accused.
