The Congress party has firmly denied any connections with Tushar Goyal, the alleged kingpin behind Delhi’s largest drug bust, which resulted in the seizure of over 500 kg of cocaine and 40 kg of hydroponic marijuana, valued at over ₹5,600 crore.
The controversy erupted after the BJP alleged that Goyal, a former chairman of the RTI Cell of the Indian Youth Congress (IYC), was still associated with the Congress. The BJP’s claim led to a sharp response from the Youth Congress, which took to social media to counter the accusations. In a post on X, the Youth Congress urged the BJP to stop “misleading the country with lies” and warned that legal action would follow.

Youth Congress Responds to Allegations
The Congress’s denial was prompted by allegations from BJP spokesperson Sudhanshu Trivedi, who suggested that the drug bust revealed a deeper connection between Goyal and the Congress party. In response, the Youth Congress clarified that Tushar Goyal had been removed from his position in October 2022 due to anti-party activities and has had no association with the organization since then.
प्रिय अडानी मुद्रा पोर्ट के चौकीदारों,

The Youth Congress further accused the BJP of manipulating the facts to tarnish its image, especially in light of the upcoming Haryana elections. The party pointed out that Goyal had posted pictures with both Congress and BJP leaders on social media, implying that the BJP had selectively highlighted only his Congress connections.
Congress Takes Legal Action
The Youth Congress expressed frustration with the BJP’s narrative, accusing the party of attempting to defame its organization. They argued that the Delhi Police, under the control of the Central government, should take the strictest action against Goyal without running a “fake campaign.” The Congress party also condemned the BJP for defending individuals like rape-accused Brij Bhushan Singh while targeting them over Goyal’s alleged past affiliation.
Tushar Goyal’s Political Links
Tushar Goyal, who went by the alias “Dikki Goyal” on social media, had been pictured with prominent Congress figures, including MP Deepender Singh Hooda and Haryana Congress leader Uday Bhan. However, BJP leaders also appear in some of his social media photos, which Congress claims were deliberately omitted by the BJP in their accusations.
Investigators revealed that Goyal had admitted during questioning that he once served as the chairman of the RTI Cell of Delhi Pradesh Congress until 2022, but Congress reiterated that his involvement with the party ended well before the drug bust.
Cocaine Smuggling Network
Tushar Goyal was arrested alongside three others—Himanshu Kumar, Aurangzeb Siddiqui, and Bharat Kumar Jain—following the massive drug seizure. According to the police, the cocaine had been smuggled into Delhi via road, while the marijuana was sourced from Phuket, Thailand. It is believed that the accused used cryptocurrency to evade law enforcement detection.
Investigators have also hinted at the involvement of a Dubai-based businessman in the drug syndicate, and efforts are underway to track down the mastermind behind the operation. The case has been registered under the Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances (NDPS) Act, and the broader network behind the drug cartel remains under investigation.
