BJP Leader Warns Rahul Gandhi Over ‘Sikh’ Remarks

BJP spokesperson RP Singh has issued a stern warning to Congress Leader Rahul Gandhi, threatening legal action if Gandhi repeats his recent remarks about Sikhs in India. Singh’s comments came after Gandhi, who is currently on a tour in the United States, alleged that the political struggle is about whether Sikhs will be allowed to maintain their religious symbols in India.

Singh accused the Congress party of being responsible for the deaths of 3,000 Sikhs during the 1984 riots in Delhi. He challenged Gandhi to address this issue within India, stating, “I dare Rahul Gandhi to repeat his statements about Sikhs in India, and I will file a case against him and drag him to court.”

Gandhi’s remarks in Virginia focused on the right of Sikhs to wear turbans and practice their religion in India, framing the debate as more than just a political issue. He suggested that the real fight is about ensuring religious freedom and the ability to practice one’s faith.

Union Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan also criticized Gandhi, contrasting his approach with that of former opposition leader Atal Bihari Vajpayee, who he said never attacked the Indian government while abroad. Chouhan accused Gandhi of attempting to malign the country’s image and called it an act of treason.

BJP national spokesperson Pradeep Bhandari added that the Congress party is fearful of having their lies exposed. He claimed that the Congress is only protecting accused individuals within its ranks and that the party’s high command is out of touch with the electorate’s sentiment.

Gandhi has also recently criticized Prime Minister Narendra Modi, suggesting that Modi has become psychologically trapped since the Lok Sabha election results.
