Finding the Complete Holiday List
For a comprehensive list of bank holidays throughout the year, refer to the Reserve Bank of India’s website. The central bank publishes an annual calendar outlining national holidays, weekend closures, and regional festivals.
Extended Weekend for Some Banks
Banks across India also observed a holiday on September 14, 2024, for the second Saturday of the month. Therefore, the Monday bank holiday will create a long weekend for banks in the regions mentioned above.
Additional Bank Holidays
In Gangtok, banks will remain closed on Tuesday and Wednesday (September 17th and 18th) this week, due to Indrajatra/Id-e-Milad (Milad-Un-Nabi) and Pang-Lhabsol. On September 18th, banks in Raipur will also observe a holiday.
Planning Ahead is Key
It’s advisable to always check the RBI’s holiday list and schedule your bank appointments accordingly. While physical branches may be closed in specific regions, customers can still access banking services like internet banking, mobile banking, and UPI during these holidays.
