SSC Constable (GD) Recruitment 2025: Apply Now for CAPFs, SSF, Assam Rifles, and NCB Posts

The Staff Selection Commission (SSC) has officially announced the Constable (GD) Recruitment 2025 for the Central Armed Police Forces (CAPFs), Secretariat Security Force (SSF), Rifleman (GD) in Assam Rifles, and Sepoy in the Narcotics Control Bureau. This recruitment drive is a significant opportunity for candidates seeking to serve in India’s defense and security forces.

Applications are now open for eligible candidates, and the process will involve multiple stages, including a Computer-Based Examination (CBE), Physical Standards Test (PST), Physical Efficiency Test (PET), and Medical Examination.

  • Pay Scale ranges from ₹18,000 to ₹56,900 for Sepoy posts and ₹21,700 to ₹69,100 for all other posts.

Vacancies:

There are 39,481 total vacancies for both male and female candidates, with specific allocations for different categories including SC, ST, OBC, EWS, and UR candidates across various forces:

  • BSF: 15,654 posts
  • CISF: 7,145 posts
  • CRPF: 11,541 posts
  • SSB, ITBP, Assam Rifles, SSF, and NCB also have allocated vacancies.

Eligibility Criteria:

1. Age Limit:

  • Candidates must be between 18 and 23 years as of 1st January 2025.
  • Permissible age relaxation is provided for SC, ST, OBC, and other categories.

2. Educational Qualification:

  • Applicants must have passed Matriculation (10th class) from a recognized board on or before 1st January 2025.

Selection Procedure:

The recruitment process consists of several stages:

  1. Computer-Based Examination (CBE): Candidates will face 80 objective-type questions covering subjects like:
    • General Intelligence and Reasoning
    • General Knowledge and Awareness
    • Elementary Mathematics
    • Hindi/English comprehension. The exam will be held in English, Hindi, and 13 regional languages, and there will be 0.25 negative marking for wrong answers.
  2. Physical Standards Test (PST): This will check candidates’ physical standards, such as height and chest measurements. Height relaxation is provided for candidates from specific regions and communities.
  3. Physical Efficiency Test (PET): Candidates must complete a 5 km race in 24 minutes for males and a 1.6 km race in 8 ½ minutes for females.
  4. Medical Examination: The shortlisted candidates will undergo a detailed medical exam to ensure fitness.

Application Process:

  • The application must be submitted online through the SSC website at https://ssc.gov.in.
  • Candidates who haven’t registered before must first complete the One-Time Registration (OTR) on the SSC portal.
  • After registration, applicants can proceed with filling out the online application form and uploading their photograph and signature as per the guidelines.

Application Fee:

  • The application fee is ₹100, but women candidates and candidates belonging to SC, ST, and Ex-servicemen categories are exempted from fee payment.
  • Payment can be made online through various methods, including BHIM UPI, Net Banking, or Debit/Credit cards.

Final Selection:

  • The final merit list will be prepared based on the normalized scores of the candidates in the Computer-Based Examination and their performance in PST/PET and Medical Examination. NCC certificate holders will be given additional bonus marks (2% to 5%).
